Free classes in online safety

Lead Scotland are hosting short classes on Zoom over the next few months to help people to use the internet confidently and safely.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

During the Covid-19 lockdown, many of us have had to rely more on using digital devices in everyday life, to connect with friends and family, find information or do shopping. It’s important to feel confident that your personal information is safe when using websites, emailing and social media. Some people with learning impairments, dyslexia or low literacy may also face particular barriers to using the internet safely.

Many people worry about being safe online and we’re here to help!

In these webinars, we’ll cover the basics of how to protect yourself against hackers by using strong passwords, how to tell if a website is real or not and how to avoid email and social media scams. We’ll also cover new Corona related scams and answer any questions you might have. Each webinar lasts about 45 minutes and will give the same advice so you only need to attend one.
