Get Online Week is the UK’s largest annual digital inclusion campaign, run by Good Things Foundation.
Digital inclusion is embedded in everything we do at Lead Scotland, from our Cyber project to our Employability projects – we know the value of digital access, skills and confidence.
“3.8 million UK adults lack the essential digital skills for life. In a world where everything is digital, this will keep people isolated from technology.”
“As around 5.8m people will be digitally excluded in 2032 if we don’t help them, events like ours are imperative to help more people around the UK to become digitally included and get connected.”
– Good Things Foundation, 2025
Whether it’s completing an SQA qualification in IT or having a friendly face help you use your new smart phone, there’s some way we can support you digitally.
Our Cyber Project has developed accessible resources to learn about staying safe online. These are free to access for anyone at any time. Why not try one thing this week?
We have lots of resources to choose from, so there’s something for everyone:
2. Digital safety checklist
Digital.Lead is our personal digital safety checklist. Work your way through the steps to check if you are doing all you can to stay safe and protect your privacy online.
There’s no logging in needed, simply click and go. But you don’t have to do all 59 steps at once, you can stop for a break and even close the tab or turn off your device. Your progress is saved via the cookies in your browser, so you can pick up where you left off.
During Get Online Week we’ll be in Perth running sessions at Vision PK, in partnership with Centre for Inclusive Living Perth & Kinross. Join us at these two events for in-person support getting online and using devices.
Events are free and all are welcome!

We encourage you to try one thing this week. Getting digitally savvy and confident online can take time and patience. It can be overwhelming at times, and we know people can feel lost. But there’s always somewhere to start. Start by trying one thing.
Good Things Foundation have created a playlist of five short videos you can watch to give you some inspiration: Try One Thing – YouTube

If you’re someone working in charities, health, social care, or digital inclusion, our recent research may be of interest to you. As part of our Digital Skills for Health and Wellbeing project, we carried out research to explore digital barriers to accessing healthcare services. The report explores how digital health technologies are impacting access to care—and where gaps remain. With powerful stories and data, the report calls for inclusive design, long-term support, and real choice in how people engage with healthcare. This is essential reading for anyone working to make digital health truly accessible for all. Digital Access in Healthcare Research – Lead Scotland | Lead Scotland
