Thank you for choosing to fundraise for Lead Scotland. Every pound you raise helps disabled people, carers and others facing disadvantage build skills, confidence and opportunities.

You can organise your own activity, take part in a sponsored challenge, involve your workplace or mark a special occasion. We are here to help you get started.

The easiest way to collect sponsorship is to create a fundraising page on JustGiving. Donations made through your page will be sent directly to Lead Scotland.

Take on a sponsored challenge

Choose an activity that is enjoyable, accessible and suitable for you. You could:

• Walk, wheel, run, cycle or swim a distance
• Take part in a Kiltwalk or another organised event
• Set yourself a personal or team challenge
• Complete a creative, reading, gaming or musical challenge
• Ask friends, family or colleagues to sponsor your progress

Organise a community event

Bring people together while raising money. Ideas include:

• A quiz night
• A coffee morning or afternoon tea
• A bake sale, craft sale or community stall
• A concert, performance or games night
• A jumble sale or car boot sale

Fundraise at work

Ask your employer and colleagues to support Lead Scotland. You could organise a dress-up or dress-down day, hold a team challenge, run a raffle where appropriate or ask whether your employer will match the money you raise.

Celebrate a special occasion

You could ask friends and family to donate to Lead Scotland instead of giving presents for a birthday, wedding, anniversary or other special occasion.

Take part in the Kiltwalk

Lead Scotland staff and supporters have previously taken part in the Kiltwalk. If you would like to join a future Kiltwalk or discuss another sponsored event, please email fundraising@lead.org.uk.

Before you begin

Please contact us if you are planning a public event, collection or fundraising activity using Lead Scotland’s name or logo. We can discuss your idea, provide information about our work and help you promote your fundraising.

Depending on your activity, you may need permission from a venue or local authority, suitable insurance or another form of approval. Please make sure your activity is safe, accessible and appropriately supervised.

If food is being served or sold, provide clear information about ingredients and allergens.

When fundraising for Lead Scotland, please:

• Be clear that you are fundraising in aid of Lead Scotland
• Treat everyone with dignity and respect
• Never pressure anyone to donate or participate
• Protect people’s personal information
• Keep an accurate record of the money raised and any agreed expenses
• Send the money raised to Lead Scotland promptly
